TRACKS - Olfar, 'Autumn Tour EP'

I caught the band Olfar Upstairs at The Garage on Highbury Corner in Islington London for one of the HMV Next Big Thing shows. They were supporting the two hotly tipped acts for 2012; Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny, and Kyla La Grange. I hadn't previously heard of Olfar, and judging by this gig I've missed out, as I was instantly struck with how their incredibly simple set up - one acoustic guitar and one heavily reverbed electric guitar combined with boy/girl vocals - could be so moving.

After a bit of research later that evening I stumbled across their 'Autumn EP' which captures the band perfectly with all the emotion and, crucially, the wash of sound that I found so mesmerising at the show... you can buy the EP from their Band Camp page and couldn't recommend it enough... you can stream the tracks below:

Further research led me find out Olfar are not actually a duo but a full band and this was just their current line-up for the moment. I have to say, there is something quite magical about the band being just a duo... but that's just my personal opinion of course :)
