TRACKS - Observer Drift, 'Corridors'

This little gem of a track popped up on the Dark Party blog this week and I just had to post it after one listen.  Observer Drift is the moniker of American based Colin Ward, and I'd seen earlier in the year his track 'Warm Waves' floating around which is worth checking out as well, but this track caught me be surprise - the dense wash of sound sums up this kind of warm but grey summer we're having down here in London.

TRACKS - I Am Oak, 'Palpable'

Now I know I'm super biased when it comes to this band but I couldn't help but post about I Am Oak as their new album, 'Nowhere or Tammensaari' which is out next week, is one of the most mesmerising things I've heard in a long while.  Every review that has crept in talks about how beautiful this record is and rightly so.

Thijs the singer has a real way of conveying a sense of emotion so effortlessly, and the folk-ambient soundscapes of this track in particular have such width, you can't be anything but encompassed by it all...  This track is out today on Heist or Hit records over here in the UK.

TRACKS - How To Dress Well, 'Ocean Floor For Everything'

This track, 'Ocean Floor For Everything' by the Brooklyn artist, How To Dress Well has been posted already on Pitchfork and The Fader and I have totally fallen in love with it - it sounds so dense but feels incredibly delicate at the same time, and is the type of track that allows you to sink right in to it. It's had me reaching for the repeat button continuously.

Although this guy has been around since about 2010 I think... I know practically nothing about him - but what I do know is this track is the first single from his forthcoming second album which is released in the States in Autumn... looks like there will be an international release at some point as well which I'm quite looking forward to on the basis of this track... enjoy:

RANT - Grimes vinyl arrived!

Continuing my musical love affair with Grimes I finally got my vinyl copy of 'Visions'!  What a cracking start to the Bank Holiday Weekend which no doubt will be continuously raining... well, it's probably a good thing anyway as I will be indoors spinning this!
