Cheatahs have been one of those slow burner projects that have been putting out some really good tracks since about 2009 I think - particularly when they were on Young & Lost Club. Now signed to the mighty Wichita Records, they popped out this track, 'The Swan'.
It's got a great Ride meets Nirvana-ish kind of vibe and takes me back to the best bits of the early 90's shoegaze and to some extent flashes of grunge... it has got baggy jumpers written all over it. That said it's an absolute bobby dazzler of a track, particularly the outro, which starts from about 3mins 30secs in, as it instills such a vivid emotion you get from some of the best in the shoegaze business.
Enjoy.

TRACKS - Wild Nothing, 'Shadow'
I'd seen Wild Nothing mentioned a few times across a number of blogs and this song, 'Shadow' just jumped out to me. With it's Smiths-esque bass line, Doves guitar line and the kind of dreamy momentum on some House Of Love.
The track is part of Wild Nothing's recent album, 'Nocturne' which was released through Captured Tracks in August this year. You can stream the whole thing here enjoy!

TRACKS - Pick A Piper, 'Lucid Fjords'
The drummer from the band Caribou, Brad Weber, has set up a little side project called Pick A Piper and put this track up on Sound Cloud. It's got a great beat (as you'd expect from a drummer) that is almost tribal and carries some awesome floating ambient electronics. Also its the kind of vocals I like that are indistinguishable in places.
Looking forward to hearing a bit more from him/them.
