TRACKS - We Are Losers, 'Moany'

Whilst perusing a few blogs I suddenly had a woah woah woah moment when I heard this track, 'Moany' by the Irish band We Are Losers as it was sitting enticingly on the old Dance To The Radio blog. It's yours for free from the label's Band Camp page (see below).

It's kind of somewhere between the Ramones, Panda Bear, and Fantasy Rainbow as it has a great use of distortions and heavy reverbs that drive the incredibly melodic vocals.

Now this has been out for a while but I absolutely love it and has brightened my Monday up no end!

TRACKS - DIIV, 'Doused'

I absolutely love this!  There is something incredibly 80s about this track, 'Doused' by DIIV... perhaps its the drum sound and also that the guitars are reminiscent of U2 back when they were cool and edgy.  I love the urgency in the vocals... it's going to take me a while to work out what's being said but as you've probably seen from previous posts it more about the way it sounds to me than anything.

So apparently they've been all over Pitchfork and what not, so I'm just catching up... all I've seemed to be able to quickly find out about them is that they're a four piece from Brooklyn and this track features on the LP 'Oshin' which is released through the Captured Tracks imprint... anyhow looks like they'll be playing in London next month as well... smashing!
