TRACKS - The Verve, 'So Sister'

So I was in the Strongrooms on Curtain Road a few weeks back with one of my old friends catching up.  What is great about going over the "good old times" is that most of my friends were on the same page musically.

After our catch up I was inspired to go back and listen to this little beauty; 'So Sister' by The Verve.  It was the B-side to 'Sonnet' and my brother (via a friend on holiday) managed to get the US import version of the single... although I think they classed it as an EP.

I think this is Richard Ashcroft's songwriting at it's best, and its simplicity of just acoustic guitar and Nick McCabe's effects and guitar lines over the top really sets the scene. It has the same kind of vibe to the last song on 'A Northern Soul' called 'Reprise', that, semi improvised playing, that adds to overall feel to the song.

I wonder if this was released on vinyl...**goes off to Ebay**
