I have to hand it to Steve Lamacq, he really does pull out some incredible tracks, particularly when you are least expecting them. Today's Lamacq show on 6Music was no different when he dropped this mind blowing track 'Umi' by Russian band Pinkshinyultrablast.
It melds my favourite type of reverb drenched vocals, driving dream pop beats and soundscape guitar (and playing technique).
I immediately had to find out more about them and stumbled across there EP from 2009 which is every bit as good as this track I heard today.
Definitely a band to follow.
