So what a week it has been and it's only Wednesday, first Bowie releases a surprise track that is actually amazing, and then out of the blue, Willow Smith posts this little gem on her Sound Cloud . Now I'd be the first to admit I didn't think I would be posting a track by the "Whip My Hair back and Forth" singer, but I saw the track being mentioned quite a bit on twitter and thought, well I'll check it out... and I'm glad I did!
Smith uses a Radiohead sample from the track 'Codex' and puts a strong, movingly melancholic and Lana Del Ray-esque vocal over the top.... and it works. The Radiohead sample gives the the track a real dark edge and the lyrics paint a picture of solace in uncertainties.
2013 is going to be a decent year if this week is anything to go by.
